AI4Gov-X Cascade Funding Call - First Edition
Digital Europe Programme · DIGITAL-2023-SKILLS-05-SPECIALEDU
Grants of up to €5,000 for MagiX master's and/or AI4Gov-X extracurricular activity students, and for internships in the public or private sector.
What is this call about?
The call funds the participation costs of people enrolled in the MagiX master's course and/or AI4Gov-X extracurricular activities, and unemployed MagiX students undertaking internships. Support of up to €5,000 per person is paid by POLI.design on behalf of the AI4Gov-X consortium.
What does this call fund?
Scope
The call, run by POLI.design on behalf of the AI4Gov-X consortium, provides financial support to individuals under two objectives. Objective 1 supports students of the MagiX master's course and/or AI4Gov-X extracurricular activities towards participation costs. Objective 2 supports unemployed MagiX students who hold an internship contract with a public or private host organisation.
Eligible costs
- Objective 1: actual and justified travel and accommodation costs and documented registration or participation fees, reimbursed at up to 50% of total eligible costs within the €5,000 cap; the selection committee may cap excessive items.
- Objective 2: an amount equivalent to the stipend or salary paid by the host organisation, within the €5,000 cap; travel, accommodation or other costs are eligible if stated in the internship contract.
- Only expenses incurred after the application date are eligible.
Budget and expected beneficiaries
The budget of €980,774.09 is shared by both objectives and all five cut-off dates; the consortium may add an extra allocation of up to twice the initial amount. With resources split equally across two yearly editions, at least 156 beneficiaries under objective 1 and at least 234 under objective 2 are expected.
Selection
Eligible applications are scored out of 100 points: excellence and relevance (30), motivation and expected impact (25), financial need (25) and European added value (20). Tie-break rules favour applicants enrolled in both the master's course and an extracurricular activity (objective 1), applicants from countries that are not full members of the consortium, from regions with income below 75% of the EU average, and female applicants. Beneficiaries sign a Financial Support Agreement, and payments are normally made after the activity and approval of the report and cost statement.
Application
Applications are submitted only through the GoodGrants platform, in English, with a signed application form, a Europass CV, a motivation letter, signed declarations and objective-specific proof of enrolment, cost breakdown or internship contract.
