Scope
One coordination and support action will strengthen the co-programmed European Partnership on Virtual Worlds and its Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA). It should build an inclusive network of academia, industry, public actors and end-users, coordinate at regional, national and European level, and promote the uptake of virtual worlds technologies in all Member States and Associated Countries.
Main activities
- Review and, if needed, update the SRIA for virtual worlds
- Continuous support to the partnership and closer links between virtual worlds initiatives in Horizon Europe, the Digital Europe Programme and other EU, national and regional programmes
- Outreach and awareness programmes to build acceptance of and trust in virtual worlds solutions
- Support for standardisation, including organising European representation in standardisation working groups
Expected outcomes
A stronger and more competitive European ecosystem in which European companies lead the development and deployment of virtual worlds technologies, wider awareness, and broader adoption of open, accessible, inclusive and safe virtual worlds that respect EU values and law.
Other conditions
Proposals should involve social sciences and humanities expertise and allocate tasks to cooperation with the partnership and related funded actions. Beneficiaries must notify the granting authority before transferring ownership of results or granting an exclusive licence.
