The call funds scholarships towards tuition, mobility and living costs for second-year students of the DIGISOC Joint Master's Programme. It targets students with disabilities, migrants or refugees, students from low-income families and students from remote areas.

What does this call fund?

Scope

The University of Innsbruck offers scholarships to students enrolled in the second year of the DIGISOC Joint Master's Programme in the academic year 2026/2027. The programme aims to ease the costs of tuition fees, summer schools, short-term mobility and living expenses, to support students from underprivileged or vulnerable backgrounds and to promote diversity, fairness and gender balance in higher education.

Scholarship terms

  • The scholarship covers one academic year, is paid in a single instalment by SEPA transfer and is not renewed automatically.
  • Each applicant can receive up to €3,000 gross per academic year, and no more than €6,000 over the two-year programme.
  • Holders may not have an employment relationship with the University of Innsbruck during the academic year concerned, and are responsible for their own tax obligations.

Evaluation and allocation

A joint Evaluation Committee with representatives of the three degree-awarding universities, a student representative and the disability officer awards up to 30 points per application:

  • Certified disability: 5 to 10 points depending on severity and impact.
  • Refugee status, or migrant status with less than five years in the current country: 10 points; migrant status with five years or more: 5 points.
  • Family income in the lowest quartile of the country of origin: 10 points; between the first quartile and the median: 5 points.
  • Residence in a remote area: 5 points, plus 5 more if there is no regular access to higher education within 100 km.

Available funds are divided by the total points of all valid applications to give a value per point, and each applicant receives an amount according to their score, up to €3,000.

Decisions and appeals

Applicants are notified within 15 days of the deadline. Successful applicants must accept within five days, and applicants not awarded a scholarship may appeal by e-mail.

Status of the call

The call is not an EU action; it is run by the University of Innsbruck under its own responsibility and is partly financed from the EU-funded EURIDICE/DIGISOC project.
