This call is announced but not open yet. Dates and conditions can still change.
What is this call about?
The topic funds innovation actions that develop and demonstrate ecodesign of construction materials and products for durability, reuse and recycling. It also covers incentives that reward circular design.
What does this call fund?
Scope
Construction is one of the most resource-intensive sectors and is responsible for almost 39% of total EU waste generation. Projects develop, test and demonstrate new and improved ecodesign of construction materials and products.
Activities
- Design for durability, reuse, repairability, separability, recyclability and uptake of recycled content, including solutions for assembly and disassembly and reuse of recovered materials.
- Assess mechanisms and incentives that reward circular design, disassembly and durability, such as extended guarantees or VAT reductions, and propose ways to overcome trade-offs.
- Evaluate environmental performance over the life cycle, using the product environmental footprint method where applicable.
- Take into account contaminants in construction products and waste, with quality control for reuse and recycling.
Expected outcomes
Manufacturers apply ecodesign principles to safe products that support EU climate, zero pollution, circular economy and biodiversity goals, and consumers and professionals gain durable, reusable and recyclable products.
Cooperation
Proposals should contribute to the New European Bauhaus and build synergies with construction-focused projects under Clusters 6 and 4. Activities are expected to reach TRL 6-8.
