Funding for EU thematic knowledge hubs that bring practical knowledge on crop health or agrobiodiversity to farm advisors.
This call is announced but not open yet. Dates and conditions can still change.
What is this call about?
The topic funds Coordination and Support Actions that set up EU thematic knowledge hubs to bring research results and best practices to farm advisors and practitioners. Consortia must follow a multi-actor approach and should cover at least fourteen EU Member States.
What does this call fund?
Scope
The topic funds EU thematic knowledge hubs that turn existing and new knowledge into accessible, practice-oriented formats for advisors and end users such as farmers, foresters and other rural actors. The hubs focus on dissemination rather than collection. Each proposal addresses one thematic area, which should be clearly indicated:
- Area A: holistic management of crop nutrition and protection for resilient and healthy cropping systems;
- Area B: agrobiodiversity and wild pollinators for economic and environmental sustainability.
Within the chosen area, applicants select specific themes bottom-up, according to the most urgent needs of practice, and explain how they avoid duplication with existing thematic networks and projects.
Activities
- Compile up-to-date scientific and practical knowledge, best practices and innovative solutions that are ready for use but not widely known or used.
- Produce informative materials and training courses, translated into at least all 24 official EU languages, and share them through channels practitioners use.
- Offer networking, cross-fertilisation and knowledge exchange services between AKIS actors, and actively involve advisors and AKIS coordination bodies.
- Work with national or regional authorities to support the training of advisors, including on access to finance.
- Prepare a long-term plan to update and maintain the hub after the project ends.
Expected outcomes
- Competitiveness, sustainability and resilience of agriculture, forestry and rural areas fostered through impartial, tailored knowledge.
- Advisors better integrated into AKIS with up-to-date, practical knowledge.
- Research findings and best practices widely shared and used by end users.
