Funding for a cross-border pilot of AI-driven digital platforms that improve grid flexibility and renewable integration.
What is this call about?
The topic funds one large cross-border pilot of AI-driven digital platforms that coordinate distributed energy resources and flexibility across European energy systems.
What does this call fund?
Scope
The topic funds one large-scale cross-border pilot that demonstrates the operational use of next-generation AI-driven digital platforms to optimise electricity system operation and flexibility management across several European energy systems.
Activities
- developing and piloting at scale AI-driven digital platforms and the digital infrastructure for data exchange across the energy system, including cross-sector links such as mobility and buildings
- operational pilots in at least 6 Member States or associated countries with real infrastructure, operators and users
- using generative, agentic and embedded AI where relevant for flexibility, smart charging and smart grid services
- using open APIs, open interoperability standards and open-source components
- building on earlier projects and taking part in the BRIDGE initiative
Expected outcomes
