This call is announced but not open yet. Dates and conditions can still change.
What is this call about?
The call funds one research and innovation action that matures critical space equipment, reducing EU dependence on non-EU suppliers and export-controlled technologies.
What does this call fund?
Scope
The topic funds development projects that mature critical space equipment, in order to reduce dependence on sources outside the EU, establish a long-term sustainable supply chain and support EU strategic autonomy in space.
Supply chain requirements
- The supply chain should preferably be built fully in the EU
- Where this is only partly possible, services procured outside the EU must keep the supply chain trustworthy and free from non-EU export controls; this case needs the approval of the granting authority
- The list of relevant equipment will be based on strategic institutional programme needs, input from European stakeholders and the EU Observatory of Critical Technologies
Expected outcomes
Less dependence on non-EU critical space equipment, unrestricted access to such equipment for EU space missions, resilient supply chains, competitive products matching or exceeding non-EU performance, and new opportunities for manufacturers.
Other conditions
Collaboration between European non-space and space industries should be enhanced. Activities should complement national and European space agency activities, and the proposal should explain how. Activities are expected to reach TRL 6 (ISO 16290:2013).
