Scope

The topic funds the development, testing, validation and piloting of cost-effective AI-based solutions that give advisors, farmers and foresters contextual, effective and impartial advice, drawing on reliable existing knowledge sources.

Activities

  • Build AI solutions on standardised data from public and private databases and from data generated during the project, able to interpret multimodal user inputs such as text, images, audio and video.
  • Release curated, interoperable datasets that support reuse and third-party use, using privacy-preserving techniques where needed.
  • Involve advisors, farmers and foresters from across Europe in co-development, testing, validation and piloting, and improve their skills on the use, benefits and risks of the solutions.
  • Build on and create synergies with related EU initiatives, such as the European Partnership on Agriculture of Data and the Common European Agriculture Data Space.
  • Ensure wide dissemination and uptake, including practice-oriented materials such as audiovisual content and brochures.

Proposals are encouraged to explore retrieval techniques, such as retrieval-augmented generation, to obtain up-to-date information from external sources.

Expected outcomes

  • AI-based solutions providing tailored and impartial advice that boosts the competitiveness, sustainability and resilience of EU agriculture and forestry.
  • Improved capacity and skills of advisors, farmers and foresters in using AI.
