The call funds one coordination and support action that helps European experts, especially from SMEs, research bodies, academia and the open-source community, contribute to and lead international digital standardisation.

Scope

The action supports the EU Standardisation Strategy and related policies by helping European experts take part in, and lead, the development of international digital standards. It targets in particular experts from SMEs, research and innovation institutions, the open-source community, academia and societal stakeholders in the EU and countries associated to Horizon Europe.

Activities the proposal should provide for

• A management facility that supports contributions and leadership positions of European specialists in global digital standardisation, such as chairing technical committees
• Where relevant, financial support for hosting international standardisation meetings and workshops in Europe
• Landscape and gap analyses of standardisation in priority digital areas, including emerging technologies
• Promotion of the benefits of digital standardisation, plus tools and materials for education and skills

Expected outcomes

Greater participation and influence of European experts in digital standardisation, better skills, updated landscape and gap analyses, foresight on future standardisation needs, and more awareness of the benefits of standardisation among SMEs and researchers.

Other conditions

The proposal should build synergies with similar EU and national initiatives and take into account earlier work under the StandICT.eu projects. Beneficiaries must notify the granting authority before transferring ownership of results or granting an exclusive licence.
