¿Qué financia esta convocatoria?

Scope

Collective community investment and ownership models allow local people to invest in, own, manage and benefit from local commercial, housing, transitional or mixed-use assets. The topic funds research that develops such bottom-up, place-based models for revitalising neighbourhoods in line with the New European Bauhaus.

Two options (one to be chosen)

  • Option A: a community equity investment model, in which community members buy shares in local cooperative or community-based commercial or service assets and take part in their development without necessarily working there.
  • Option B: an occupant equity model, in which community members build equity through living or working in a cooperative or community-based housing or mixed-use asset.

Expected activities

  • Develop the model with diverse community stakeholders, including marginalised or vulnerable groups.
  • Develop and validate it in at least three neighbourhoods in different Member States and/or Associated Countries.
  • Assess socio-economic and environmental impacts, including long-term affordability and accessibility.
  • Identify systemic barriers, including local capital and real estate market dynamics and long-term financial viability, and use existing legal and regulatory frameworks.
  • Provide recommendations for scaling up and adapting the model to other contexts.

Expected outcomes

Community members co-create and take part in investment and ownership models, with gains in local democratic participation, social equity, cohesion, sense of belonging and local economic development.
