¿De qué trata esta convocatoria?

The ITEA call for projects 2026 is a Eureka Cluster call supporting international R&D projects run by consortia. Companies of different sizes, research organisations and universities may take part, with their costs funded under the national or regional programmes of the supporting countries.

¿Qué financia esta convocatoria?

Scope

This is a Eureka Cluster call for projects run by ITEA. Project consortia apply for a Cluster label; the R&D costs of each participant are then funded through national or regional funding programmes in the participating countries and regions.

Two-stage procedure

The call opens on 15 September 2026. Consortia first submit a project outline and then a full project proposal. In several countries a separate national application follows, often only after the Cluster or Eureka label has been awarded (for example Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal and the United Kingdom). In Belgium (Wallonia) the regional application in French is due on the same day as the full project proposal.

Funding by country

  • Funding takes the form of grants in most countries; France (Bpifrance) provides loans of up to €3,000,000 per project, and Spain offers a loan route with a non-repayable part as well as the INNOGLOBAL 2026 grant route.
  • Rates depend on the country, the type of organisation and, in some countries, the type of research. Examples: SMEs in Canada up to 50%; small companies in Finland up to 50%; startups and small companies in the United Kingdom up to 70%; large companies in Luxembourg up to 65%.
  • Research organisations and universities receive direct funding in some countries (for example up to 80% in Finland and up to 100% in Ireland, Lithuania, Poland and South Korea), while in others they may only take part as subcontractors (for example France, Belgium (Wallonia), Singapore and Turkiye).
  • Funding caps include €300,000 per project in Lithuania and South Africa, €250,000 per organisation per project for Irish research organisations and universities, 500 million South Korean won per year per project in South Korea, and a domestic limit in Poland expressed in Polish zloty.

Eligible costs

Eligible costs are set nationally. Luxembourg lists internal staff costs, depreciable and non-depreciable equipment and material costs, and subcontracting costs to a certain extent. The Spanish loan route lists depreciation, consumables, staff, external collaboration and overheads.

Additional national criteria

Some countries apply their own evaluation criteria, for example benefits to Canada, valorisation in Wallonia, and, in the Netherlands, innovation, collaboration and impact. Applicants should contact their National Funding Body as early as possible before applying.
