Scope

The topic complements the Clean Industrial Deal flagship call by supporting the clean and circular transition of urban manufacturing, an area outside that call where the Circular Cities and Regions Initiative (CCRI) network can provide capacity. Urban manufacturing means producing goods in urban areas for local communities, using local resources.

Activities

• Implement and demonstrate circular systemic solutions that help urban manufacturers overcome barriers in their clean and circular transition and adapt to new environmental requirements.
• Involve economic operators, local authorities and civil society organisations.
• Cooperate with the CCRI and its Coordination and Support Office; joint activities with other CCRI projects are strongly encouraged.

Applicants may propose solutions that maximise competitiveness and sustainability through increased circularity, provided they are fit for deployment in technological and economic terms.

Expected outcomes

Urban manufacturers use materials more efficiently, adopt clean and circular business practices, and benefit from shared knowledge and digital tools. Activities are expected to reach TRL 6-8 and may start at any TRL.
