¿De qué trata esta convocatoria?

The call funds one-year EU-FORA fellowships in food and feed safety risk assessment, delivered by a consortium of a hosting site and a fellow sending organisation. Both must be competent organisations designated under Article 36 of Regulation (EC) 178/2002. The total amount available is €825,000.

¿Qué financia esta convocatoria?

Scope

The call seeks consortia of hosting sites and fellow sending organisations, both of which are competent organisations under Article 36 of Regulation (EC) 178/2002, the founding regulation of the European Food Safety Authority. The sending organisation proposes a fellow who is trained under a work programme offered by the hosting site, which is responsible for the training. Hosting sites are expected to have strong capacity and broad experience in one or more areas relevant to risk assessment under the remit of the Authority.

About the fellowship

EU-FORA is a one-year, learning-by-doing fellowship for mid-career professionals with limited experience in food and feed safety risk assessment. It is complemented by a dedicated training programme offered by a contractor of the Authority.

Funding

  • The aim is to conclude 15 direct grant agreements, each for a maximum of 12 months starting 1 September 2027.
  • The maximum amount per grant, for each fellow, is €55,000, covering the costs of both organisations in the consortium; the Authority does not prescribe how it is divided.
  • Two of the 15 award slots are reserved for the highest ranked proposals addressing each of the two topics of an appendix to the call, provided they pass the award criteria thresholds.
  • The fellow spends a minimum of 3 months in placement at the hosting site, with no maximum prescribed.
  • Payment goes to the coordinator, the hosting site, which transfers the agreed share to the sending organisation.
  • The Authority may award more than 15 fellow positions if more proposals pass the award criteria and the budget increases, or may decide not to award all funds.
