¿De qué trata esta convocatoria?
The topic funds research and innovation projects that improve how European farmers and agri-food supply chain operators prevent, cope with and manage risks and crises. Projects must follow a multi-actor approach and should test solutions experimentally.
¿Qué financia esta convocatoria?
Scope
Projects should address one or more risks and crises (for example sanitary, environmental, economic, geopolitical, ecological, demographic or technological) that affect EU farmers, taking into account compound and amplifier effects of climate change and biodiversity loss. The work supports the EU Vision for Agriculture and Food and the Common Agricultural Policy.
Activities
- Improve understanding of farmers' individual and collective options, strategies, incentives and decision-making on uncertainty, risk and crisis management.
- Assess the anticipation, robustness, adaptation and transformation capacities of farms, and the costs and benefits of action versus non-action.
- Develop inclusive, integrated risk and crisis management strategies at farm, landscape or supply chain level, including a cost-benefit assessment.
- Propose criteria and measures for fair risk sharing along the agri-food supply chain and for derisking.
- Test the strategies or measures experimentally, for example in demonstration sites or living labs.
- Support capacity building, training and education on risk and crisis management for farmers and supply chain operators.
Proposals should compare options developed under several farming approaches, one of which should be organic farming, and include a dedicated task and resources for collaboration with other projects under this topic.
Expected outcomes
- Improved capacity of farmers and supply chain operators to prevent, prepare for and manage risks and crises.
- Better evidence for policymakers on prevention and management strategies.
- Knowledge and solutions for resilient farming systems made accessible to farmers and supply chain operators.
