Di cosa tratta questo bando?
The call funds one co-fund action in which European and African partners run joint research calls on climate change, with a focus on climate risk reduction, resilience and capacity building in Africa.
Cosa finanzia questo bando?
Scope
The action establishes joint collaborative activities between the EU, the African Union, their Member States and other like-minded countries to implement the Climate Action pillar of the EU-AU Research and Innovation Partnership on Climate Change and Sustainable Energy (CCSE). It should be framed by the CCSE Roadmap and the priorities set by the related 2025 coordination and support action.
Main activities
- Organise joint transnational calls and allow sufficient time for the co-funded projects to be carried out
- Address a balanced range of climate issues, with emphasis on climate risk reduction and resilience, better climate data, data sharing and climate services
- Raise awareness, in particular among the most vulnerable sectors and population groups, and use digital tools to improve access and impact
- Build capacity among African scientists and practitioners, including skills development and researcher exchange
- Run coordination and clustering activities with other Horizon Europe, EU, national and multilateral initiatives, and support the operation and visibility of the CCSE partnership
Expected outcomes
Long-term EU-AU collaboration on climate research, less fragmentation of research funding, better knowledge and tools for African communities to adapt to climate change, and stronger representation of African scientists in international fora such as the IPCC and UNFCCC.
