Cosa finanzia questo bando?
Scope
The topic funds one coordination and support action that creates a framework for benchmarking the environmental performance of innovative industrial bio-based systems, aligned with the European Innovation Centre for Industrial Transformation and Emissions (INCITE) and the revised Industrial and Livestock Rearing Emissions Directive.
Activities
- Set up a forum of experts and stakeholders from academia, industry and government, whose members are part of the consortium.
- Select and collect data worldwide, with emphasis on the EU and Associated Countries, on emerging techniques along bio-based supply and value chains, and assess their development level, environmental performance, cost-effectiveness and trade-offs.
- Focus at least on pulp and paper and bio-based chemicals, mechanical and chemical recycling of bio-based plastics, and bioremediation, including landfills and mining.
- Collect life cycle assessment data in line with the Environmental Footprint recommendation and, where applicable, the Safe and Sustainable by Design framework.
- Feed results into the Sevilla process through INCITE and into the EU Bioeconomy Monitoring.
Exclusions
Food and feed, biofuels and bioenergy, and health and medical devices are out of scope.
