Cosa finanzia questo bando?
Scope
The topic funds new AI approaches for collaboration between people and machines in advanced manufacturing. AI can capture and formalise dispersed company knowledge, shorten onboarding, support upskilling, simplify complex tasks and adapt automation to the abilities and cultural needs of workers.
Fields of application (at least two)
- Human-AI co-learning and knowledge capture: sharing competences, capturing expert knowledge, interactive mentoring, re-qualification and continuous training.
- Human-AI teamwork through natural interaction models, helping to manage complexity in production systems, including shop-floor planning.
- Interfaces with automation that adapt automatically to human needs, including different abilities and cultural needs.
Further requirements
- Integrate a gender perspective, avoid discrimination and address other biases in AI systems, including the needs of persons with disabilities and ergonomics.
- Take account of human values and ethical principles, with a contribution from social sciences and humanities.
- Seek collaboration with initiatives linked to the Apply AI Strategy and build on earlier extended reality projects.
- Include a business case and exploitation strategy.
Expected outcomes and readiness
Industrial jobs transformed through AI-based human-machine interaction that supports flexibility, inclusion, well-being and career development, and more competitive, sustainable manufacturing. Activities start at TRL 4-5 and reach TRL 6. The topic implements the Made in Europe and AI, Data and Robotics partnerships.
