Questo bando è stato annunciato ma non è ancora aperto. Date e condizioni possono ancora cambiare.
Di cosa tratta questo bando?
The call funds research on new battery concepts and advanced materials for low-cost mobility batteries, high-performance batteries for aviation and maritime, or stationary storage. It is a two-stage call under the battery and advanced materials partnerships.
Cosa finanzia questo bando?
Scope
This Horizon Research and Innovation Action supports next-generation battery concepts based on innovative advanced materials. Each project addresses one of three areas.
Areas
- Area A: low-cost batteries mainly for passenger electric vehicles and/or stationary storage, with minimal use of critical raw materials and a main component cost below €35 per kWh, benchmarked against lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries.
- Area B: high-performance battery chemistries for applications such as aviation and maritime, with structural integration and multifunctional materials, targeting energy density above 500 Wh/kg and/or power density beyond the state of the art.
- Area C: durable advanced materials and cell-level concepts for stationary storage, for the grid (system-level cost target below €50/kWh, multi-hour storage) or for energy-intensive industry.
Assessment expected from all projects
- Scalability, manufacturability and market relevance.
- Cycle life, cost-efficient recyclability and sustainability by design, with the Safe and Sustainable by Design framework as a reference.
- Safety, thermal management, performance monitoring and predictive diagnostics.
Other information
Proposals could involve the European Commission's Joint Research Centre for experimental or desk research on battery performance or safety. Activities are expected to reach TRL 4-5 by the end of the project.
Further expectations
- Each project is expected to contribute to one of the three areas (A, B or C) and cover all points listed for that area.
- Funded projects are expected to report results to the Batt4EU and IAM4EU partnerships.
