Di cosa tratta questo bando?
The topic funds research that helps rural communities anticipate, prepare for and recover from climate, environmental and socio-economic shocks. Consortia should bring together researchers, local authorities and communities.
Cosa finanzia questo bando?
Scope
The topic supports the long-term vision for EU rural areas by helping rural communities anticipate, prepare for and recover from sudden shocks. These may include disruptions to critical infrastructure, economic crises, social, health or demographic shocks, and environmental events such as natural disasters and extreme weather.
Activities
- Assess the types of shocks affecting the livelihoods, well-being and resilience of rural communities, including gender-based differences.
- Measure resilience with suitable indicators covering initial impact and recovery capacity.
- Foster inclusive, participatory and anticipatory governance by involving women, young people and people in vulnerable situations in disaster risk plans.
- Identify and mobilise local resources and co-design solutions for community-based adaptation.
- Support all levels of government in designing and evaluating response and recovery strategies.
Cooperation
Projects should collaborate with other projects under the topic and relevant Horizon Europe projects, with a dedicated task and resources, and help adapt the Resilience Dashboards of the Joint Research Centre to rural areas.
Expected outcomes
More resilient rural communities, stronger and more inclusive local governance with active youth involvement, and crisis plans that better reflect rural specificities.
