Grants for large-scale campaigns and events that raise awareness of the Common Agricultural Policy among EU citizens and farmers.
Di cosa tratta questo bando?
The call funds large-scale information and communication measures that raise awareness of the Common Agricultural Policy among citizens, farmers and stakeholders in the EU. It is open to single applicants that are public or private legal entities established in EU Member States.
Cosa finanzia questo bando?
Objectives
The call aims to raise awareness of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) among all EU citizens, farmers and non-farmers alike, and to spread objective, evidence-based information about it. Measures should help people understand how the CAP responds to challenges in agriculture and food production, supports farmers' income and rural development, rewards farmers who preserve biodiversity and ecosystems, and promotes a more competitive, sustainable and resilient Union model of agriculture. Proposals should focus on the ten specific objectives of the CAP, taking account of national CAP strategic plans.
Themes
Proposals are invited to address the following themes, and those not addressing at least three of them are considered outside the scope:
- the CAP's role in competitiveness and long-term resilience of EU agriculture, and key elements of the new CAP for 2028-2034 once adopted
- nutrient management and fertilisers
- CAP support to livestock, in particular through the EU Livestock Strategy
- CAP support to increase the supply and use of EU-grown protein, in particular through the Protein Action Plan
- the role women play in agriculture
- addressing misinformation and disinformation in rural areas
Activities that can be funded
The call targets large-audience information measures, which must include one or more activities reaching a significant number of citizens, such as communication campaigns; production and distribution or broadcast of print, multimedia or audiovisual material; web and social media outreach; media events; conferences, seminars and workshops; and studies on CAP-related issues where needed to support the measures. A final (preferably external) evaluation of the activities and their impact is strongly encouraged. Measures required by law, general or recurrent statutory meetings without distinct IMCAP communication components, and activities where communication is not the main component are not eligible. Proposals building on earlier co-funded projects must describe their past impact and explain the novelty of the new activities.
Expected impact
The target public is the general public (in particular young people, school children, teachers and students), farmers and other stakeholders in rural areas and the agricultural sector. Projects must use objective and measurable impact indicators, which should include a baseline of current CAP awareness (based on the latest Eurobarometer data and/or other credible sources), the total expected reach, and the targeted increase in contacts who recognise or view the CAP more positively.
Eligible costs
The grant is a budget-based mixed actual cost grant, with Commission unit costs for travel and subsistence and a 7% flat rate for indirect costs. Non-deductible VAT is eligible, while financial support to third parties is not allowed. There is no prefinancing and there are no interim payments; the grant is paid at the end of the project.
