Quel est l’objet de cet appel ?

The call funds transnational research on novel ecosystems, their socio-ecological consequences and future trajectories. It is aimed at research consortia funded through national and regional funding organisations participating in Biodiversa+.

Que finance cet appel ?

Scope

BiodivFuture, the sixth Biodiversa+ co-funded research call, supports future-looking research and innovation on biodiversity and novel ecosystems, their socio-ecological dynamics and consequences in relation to the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, and future pathways of change. It covers drivers, biological responses and outcomes of change in terrestrial, freshwater, marine and coastal realms in all world regions. Proposals must demonstrate how they address novel ecosystems.

Themes

Projects may address one or more of three themes:

  • Theme A: functioning of novel ecosystems and their links to socio-cultural and socio-economic dynamics, including approaches that facilitate biodiversity gains.
  • Theme B: robust and concrete pathways to novel ecosystems and associated socio-ecological dynamics under uncertainty.
  • Theme C: fair and equitable sharing of biodiversity benefits in novel ecosystems, supported by inclusive and investment-oriented pathways for nature-positive transformation.

Expected approach

Proposals should show significant transnational added value and are expected to be interdisciplinary. They are strongly encouraged to be transdisciplinary, involving non-academic stakeholders.

Evaluation

Pre-proposals are assessed on fit to scope, novelty and impact. Full proposals are assessed on excellence, quality and efficiency of implementation, and impact, including policy and societal impact and stakeholder engagement.
