Grants of up to €50,000 for SMEs, start-ups and non-profits developing climate-smart construction solutions from underutilised wood.
Quel est l’objet de cet appel ?

Que finance cet appel ?
Scope
The grants support one-year projects that make better use of underutilised wood (hardwood, residual, low-quality, damaged and post-consumer wood) in construction. Projects combine innovation, circularity and community engagement and embed the New European Bauhaus values of together, sustainable and beautiful.
Eligible activities
- Demonstration: prototyping and experimental set-up of innovations
- Testing: physical and mechanical validation, preparation for certification
- Co-creation with local actors and users
- Training workshops
- Dissemination, including video production (at most 20% of the total budget)
Eligible costs
Equipment, laboratory testing, materials, logistics, multimedia production and staff costs related to these activities.
Expected outcomes
Selected projects are expected to develop climate-smart wood construction solutions beyond TRL 5, hold one co-creation session with a WoodStock Living Lab (Netherlands, France, Slovenia, Poland, Ireland or Norway), document successful and unsuccessful innovation steps, share lessons learned with the consortium, and contribute to the WoodBook, the European Wood Construction Observatory and WoodStock communication.
Selection
Proposals must show at least ambition level I for each NEB value using the NEB Compass and use at least one underutilised wood source type. Eligible proposals are scored 0 to 5 on New European Bauhaus, circularity, community basis, scalability, systemic change and applicant capacity, with at least 3 points needed on each criterion. Circular business models and solutions for the existing building stock are preferred. At most one grant is awarded per country of the lead applicant and one per wood source type.
Payment and reporting
€30,000 is paid on signature. A progress report is due after six months and a final report after one year; the final payment follows a positive evaluation.
