Projects build skills and services for repairing and refurbishing products in one or more of these categories: electronics (including household appliances), furniture, textiles and footwear.

Activities

• Develop and test modular, scalable training programmes for professionals, consumers, local partners, social economy actors and educators.
• Develop and test new repair and refurbishment services and strategies for their uptake, making them accessible and affordable, including for people with disabilities or limited means.
• Explore approaches such as affordable repair services, community-based repair initiatives and knowledge-sharing platforms.
• Evaluate feasibility, effectiveness and impact using robust methods, including life cycle assessment where relevant.

Expected outcomes

Wider adoption of innovative repair and refurbishment practices that reduce waste and environmental impacts while creating jobs and cost savings, and access to high-quality training in technical, business and social repair skills.
