Was fördert diese Ausschreibung?
Scope
The topic aims to advance protective gear designed for optimal performance in chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosives (CBRN-E) environments, and to create a new generation of smart protective equipment for disaster responders. Projects should use innovative materials, technologies and design features, with an inclusive and user-centred approach.
What projects should do
- Build on existing research outputs, specifically under Horizon Europe Cluster 4, to create adaptive solutions that respond to evolving CBRN-E threats, with features such as automated hazard detection, environmental monitoring and advanced communication for real-time situational awareness.
- Meet rigorous safety standards while improving comfort, mobility and usability.
- Carry out a stakeholder or market analysis and prepare a roadmap for uptake by industry, the research community and authorities, taking into account the capacities of the European Civil Protection Pool and the rescEU reserve.
Expected outcomes
Projects contribute to some or all of: advanced CBRN-E protective gear; innovative smart protective equipment for disaster responders; and better protection for responders working in hazardous, high-risk environments. Activities are expected to reach TRL 7-8 by the end of the project.
