Worum geht es in dieser Ausschreibung?
The call funds innovation actions that demonstrate next-generation solar cell and module production technologies, from high-efficiency devices to digitalised pilot lines ready for multi-megawatt manufacturing.
Was fördert diese Ausschreibung?
Background
The REPowerEU plan and the EU Solar Energy Strategy set a target of 600 GWac of solar PV by 2030, and the Net-Zero Industry Act aims to scale up European manufacturing to at least 40% of annual deployment needs. The short technology cycle of PV creates openings for innovative start-ups and scale-ups.
Scope
Proposals are expected to demonstrate:
- Solar cells or modules with conversion efficiencies beyond those commercially available, and reliability and performance at least on par with the most reliable commercial technologies
- A resilient, energy-efficient, defect-free production technology for cells or modules ready for multi-MWp production
- Production equipment and a pilot line, including digitalised and automated processing
Expected outcomes
Greater commercialisation potential for innovative PV technologies and a competitive European know-how base, contributing to the EU Solar PV Industry Alliance and the joint solar research and innovation agenda.
Other conditions
Proposals need a strong business case and an exploitation plan with preliminary plans for scale-up, commercialisation and deployment, naming possible funding sources such as the Innovation Fund. Projects report results to the EUPI-PV partnership. Activities are expected to reach TRL 7.
