Scope

This Horizon Coordination and Support Action prepares and supports the Transport Research Arena (TRA) conference in 2030, which brings together policy, industry and research stakeholders across road, rail, waterborne, aviation and cross-modal transport. It is carried out in close collaboration with the TRA management and programme committees.

Expected activities

• Show the financial and organisational capacity of the national authorities hosting the event, with an economic plan for possible additional funding needs.
• Describe the involvement of the Member State holding the EU Presidency in 2030.
• Support conference planning, thematic pillars and session structure, venue selection and logistics, with a professional conference organiser in the consortium.
• Provide operational support such as the website, registration, paper submission and conference tools, plus demonstrations and technical visits.
• Assess and reduce the environmental impact of the event.
• Organise the TRA VISIONS awards: one stream for students and young researchers, one for senior researchers based on results of EU-funded projects, and a special honorary award.
• Ensure strong media coverage and track outreach.

Expected outcomes

A successful TRA 2030 conference with published papers, greater visibility of transport research and EU policy, stronger links between research, industry and policymakers, and more applications for the transport research awards. Broad and balanced participation, including students, young researchers, women and under-represented groups, is expected.
