Quel est l’objet de cet appel ?
The topic funds three large pilots that give researchers and innovators integrated transnational and virtual access to research infrastructures in one of three groups of ESFRI scientific domains.
Que finance cet appel ?
Scope
The topic tests large pilots that work like an access programme: they give researchers and innovators transnational access (on site or remote) and/or virtual access to integrated research infrastructure installations and services, from curiosity-driven to applied research. Access comes from a core of state-of-the-art infrastructures that are beneficiaries or affiliated entities, complemented on demand by third-party access providers. Proposals should adhere to the European Charter for Access to Research Infrastructures.
Areas
Each proposal addresses one area and must state which:
- Area 1: Physical Sciences and Engineering; Data, Computing and Digital Research Infrastructures.
- Area 2: Health and Food; Social Sciences and Humanities.
- Area 3: Environment; Energy.
What pilots provide
- A wide portfolio of complementary services of European interest, including data services, with a list of core installations and the units of access offered.
- User training and scientific and technical support, additional courses such as data stewardship, and places for researchers or technicians from widening and candidate countries to join selected user groups.
- Short-term development of services, provided the services are offered within the action and their sustainability is ensured.
- Complementary access from third-party infrastructures, which may be funded through financial support to third parties covering access costs, service customisation and users' travel and subsistence.
- A single-entry portal per pilot, an outreach plan aimed at widening and candidate countries and industry including SMEs, and attention to data management and links to the European Open Science Cloud.
Pilots should work closely with the related preparatory action and other access pilots and actions, including a common front page for EU-supported access. The Joint Research Centre may collaborate with successful proposals.
Expected outcomes
- More efficient access to the best infrastructures regardless of location, through a single-entry portal and converging access conditions.
- A step towards a sustainable access programme harmonised across ESFRI domains, and a new generation of trained researchers.
