Que finance cet appel ?
Scope
The topic supports the development of hybrid building solutions that combine conventional construction materials, products or techniques (such as concrete, steel or on-site construction) with innovative ones, such as bio-based and circular materials, 3D-printed elements or adapted traditional techniques.
What proposals should do
- Develop at least one replicable and scalable hybrid solution that applies to both new construction and renovation, can optimise time, cost or resource use, meets regulatory requirements such as structural and fire safety, and incorporates circularity principles.
- Validate the solution and assess, with relevant indicators, its effect on sustainability, performance, durability, resilience and architectural quality, including beauty.
- Where relevant, examine how different materials or products interact over the long term, for example in moisture management, adhesion and degradation.
Approach
Work should be participatory and transdisciplinary, co-creating solutions with public and private actors of the construction ecosystem. An effective contribution from social sciences and humanities is required. Proposals are expected to set aside at least 0.8% of their budget for engaging with the Horizon Europe-funded New European Bauhaus hub for results and impact.
Expected outcomes
- More optimised construction and renovation processes and better building performance through hybrid solutions.
- Greater awareness among construction ecosystem actors of the advantages and drawbacks of hybrid solutions.
- Activities are expected to reach technology readiness level 4-5 by the end of the project.
