Quel est l’objet de cet appel ?
The topic funds projects that develop tools, methods and training for inclusive community policing in diverse European societies. It requires a contribution from social sciences and humanities and looks at cooperation with civil society organisations.
Que finance cet appel ?
Scope
The topic addresses the challenges of community policing in diverse and sometimes fragile societies, including the integration of returnees from conflict zones, migrants and marginalised communities such as LGBTIQ people and ethnic and religious groups. It also covers a post-conflict dimension, particularly in the context of Ukraine.
What proposals should do
- Explore inclusive approaches to police education, training and management that go beyond traditional models.
- Develop practices and training programmes that deepen understanding of diversity among police staff, with a gender-sensitive and intersectional approach where relevant.
- Assess how cooperation with civil society and non-governmental organisations can improve reporting mechanisms, reduce hate crime and build trust between police and the population.
- Combine social sciences with technological development; the topic requires the effective contribution of social sciences and humanities (SSH) expertise.
- Plan for future uptake and upscaling at national and EU level after the project.
Expected outcomes
- New tools, skills and methods for police authorities in Europe to work with diverse communities and with diversity among their own staff, leading to greater trust in the police.
- Modern training curricula on community policing in diverse societies, including post-conflict zones.
Technology readiness
Activities are expected to reach TRL 6-8 by the end of the project.
