Quel est l’objet de cet appel ?

The topic funds research that develops and validates practices through which cultural experiences, heritage institutions and creative industries improve health and well-being. Projects should involve stakeholders from cultural heritage institutions and/or the cultural and creative sectors and industries.

Que finance cet appel ?

Scope

The topic funds research that develops evidence-based, validated practices showing how cultural experiences, for example those offered by cultural heritage institutions and the cultural and creative sectors and industries, can support mental and physical health and well-being. Proposals choose the focus with the strongest potential impact and should explain credibly why it is likely to succeed; work may cover different kinds of arts and culture, online or in person, or cross-sectoral issues.

Possible focuses

  • Arts and culture-based experiences as a support kit for the population in crises or other situations where health or well-being is threatened.
  • Mobilising a particular creative industry, such as video games, to contribute to health and well-being, including the opportunities and risks of online gaming communities.
  • Implementation research on obstacles to the adoption of already validated arts-based interventions and on ways to achieve broad uptake.

How projects should work

Projects should involve stakeholders from cultural heritage institutions and the creative sectors, may validate practices through small-scale pilot trials or other suitable methods, and should take the gender dimension into account where relevant. They may link to the project funded under the 2025 topic on impacts of culture and the arts on health and well-being, and may consider involving the Joint Research Centre.

Support to third parties

Projects may give financial support to third parties, such as cultural organisations or other stakeholders outside the consortium, only in the form of grants.

Expected outcomes

Deeper knowledge of the positive effects of cultural experiences on health, scalable and replicable practices, engagement of industrial, health, cultural, educational and civil society actors, and a systematic contribution of European creative sectors to health and well-being.
