Cet appel est annoncé mais pas encore ouvert. Les dates et les conditions peuvent encore changer.
Quel est l’objet de cet appel ?
The topic funds innovation projects that test and deploy integrated wastewater, stormwater and water reuse solutions in European cities and regions. Consortia must include partners from at least four cities or regions in different countries, and the local water management organisations should be part of the consortium.
Que finance cet appel ?
Scope
The topic supports cities and regions in a climate-neutral, climate-resilient and circular transition of the water sector, in line with the recast Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive.
Required aspects (at least three)
- Nature-based solutions such as vegetated ditches, treatment wetlands and storage ponds, with rainwater harvesting where possible.
- Sustainable urban drainage and green-blue stormwater management to reduce pollution, including during extreme weather.
- Energy efficiency and recovery in sewers and treatment plants, such as solar energy, waste heat recovery or biogas from sludge.
- Pooling of resources at regional level for resource recovery, addressing regulatory barriers through local end-of-waste criteria.
Aspects all projects should address
- Solutions for reuse of (waste)water.
- Combined treatment, valorisation and reuse processes tested in demonstrator cities or regions.
- Analysis of legislative, regulatory, governance and financing conditions for deployment in replicator cities or regions.
- Actionable insights for other cities and regions to overcome barriers.
Expected outcomes
Cities and regions equipped with climate-adapted wastewater practices, deployed treatment infrastructure with benefits for adaptation, biodiversity, pollution reduction and energy efficiency, and wide dissemination for replication. Activities are expected to reach TRL 7-8 by the end of the project.
