Quel est l’objet de cet appel ?
The topic funds virtual and augmented reality training and simulation tools that prepare responders and decision-makers for large-scale, cross-border disasters.
Que finance cet appel ?
Scope
The topic aims to improve preparedness for large-scale, cross-border disasters through advanced training methods, including virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) simulations and digital twins. Proposals should develop and validate VR/AR crisis simulation models for transboundary hazards such as wildfires, floods, earthquakes and industrial accidents, using near real-time data, AI-driven scenario adaptation and multi-user interaction.
What projects should do
- Ensure interoperable training platforms so that emergency services from different regions and countries can train together.
- Explore how digital training improves situational awareness, decision-making and coordination, using gamification, AI coaching and real-time performance assessment.
- Develop transnational training frameworks and crisis protocols in coordination with the UCPM Training Programme, and digital platforms for sharing lessons learned.
- Address ethical, legal, social and security aspects, including data protection and resilience against emerging cryptographic threats.
- Conduct a stakeholder or market analysis and prepare a roadmap for uptake.
Expected outcomes
Projects contribute to some or all of: VR/AR training that simulates large-scale disasters; diverse immersive crisis scenarios for responders and decision-makers; stronger ability to manage cross-border disasters; and better knowledge and data sharing among EU countries. Activities are expected to reach TRL 8 by the end of the project.
Further expectations
- Proposals should take into account the Preparedness Union Strategy action on an EU training catalogue and lessons-learned platform.
