Quel est l’objet de cet appel ?
The topic funds research on the health of ecosystems and wild species under pressure from biodiversity loss and its effects on human health. It aims at indicators and policy recommendations for One Health governance.
Que finance cet appel ?
Scope
The topic applies the One Health approach, which links the health of ecosystems, wildlife, humans, domestic animals and plants. Terrestrial, freshwater and marine ecosystems may be studied, with no geographical restrictions.
Activities
- Describe the current health of ecosystems and wild species most likely to interact with human health, the impact of stressors from biodiversity loss, and predict their future health in the short, medium and long term.
- Propose benchmark protocols and common indicators on the risks and benefits of links between wildlife, ecosystem, animal, plant and human health, including within the exposome approach.
- Assess the impact of degraded ecosystem and wildlife health on human health, including a cost-benefit analysis of restoration and conservation and attention to vulnerable groups.
- Provide actionable recommendations for a One Health policy framework.
Expected outcomes
Transdisciplinary research communities able to predict the health of ecosystems and wild species, better understanding of the links between ecosystem and human health among policymakers and citizens, and science-based indicators to track progress towards One Health governance.
