Que finance cet appel ?
Scope
Around 10 million people in the EU live with dementia, a number expected to double by 2050. Much of their care is given by informal caregivers, mostly family members and especially women, at a cost to caregivers' employment, finances and mental health. The topic funds systemic interventions that improve the economic and social life, financial stability and mental health of persons with dementia and their caregivers, and address the gendered nature of caregiving.
What projects should do
- Prioritise scaling up and adapting interventions that have already shown promise at smaller scale, rather than developing untested solutions.
- Provide a robust framework for evaluating effectiveness, and assess economic feasibility, cost-effectiveness and integration into health and social care systems.
- Optionally focus on groups in vulnerable situations, include community models such as dementia-friendly cities and peer-support groups, and use technology and digital tools.
Expected outcomes
- Better social, mental and socio-economic outcomes for persons with dementia through person-centred interventions.
- Reduced emotional, financial and physical burden for informal caregivers.
- More integrated care through coordination between healthcare, long-term care, social services and community organisations.
- Improved, gender-sensitive data on dementia care for policymakers and researchers.
