Quel est l’objet de cet appel ?
The call funds innovation actions that demonstrate how multimodal passenger hubs can withstand climate impacts while becoming more inclusive and encouraging a shift to sustainable and shared transport. Projects work with cities within their sustainable urban mobility plans.
Que finance cet appel ?
Scope
The topic addresses the climate resilience of major multimodal passenger hubs, meaning connection points between at least two transport modes, within and between cities and in peri-urban and rural areas. Transport infrastructure can be disrupted by extreme events such as storms, floods and heat waves, and by longer-term stresses such as drought or sea level rise. Each project needs at least three demonstrators.
Proposals should address all of the following
- Develop and test solutions that increase trips to and from hubs by public transport, active, shared and micromobility modes.
- Identify current and future climate vulnerabilities of the selected hubs and the possible safety, economic and social losses.
- Develop and test solutions for climate-resilient hubs and services, including nature-based solutions and digital or AI-based monitoring and risk management.
- Improve inclusivity and accessibility of hubs, with attention to marginalised and vulnerable groups.
- Co-design solutions with stakeholders, including an economic model, and promote New European Bauhaus principles through local initiatives.
Expected outcomes
Lower transport emissions and congestion, more resilient hub infrastructure in line with the TEN-T Regulation, better access for all passengers and guidance for authorities on integrating walking, cycling and shared mobility. Technological pilots are expected to reach at least TRL 8 by the end of the project.
