Scope
This Horizon Innovation Action supports the industrialisation of tandem photovoltaic technologies to strengthen European solar manufacturing and reduce dependence on imports.
Proposals are expected to
- Demonstrate tandem technologies with lifetimes similar to silicon and efficiencies beyond the silicon limit.
- Demonstrate large-scale interface and thin-film engineering.
- Demonstrate production processes and equipment ready for large-scale deployment.
- Present an exploitation plan with a strong business case and preliminary plans for scaling, commercialisation and deployment, indicating possible funding sources such as the Innovation Fund.
Expected outcomes
Greater commercialisation potential for tandem photovoltaic technologies and competitive know-how for the European PV industrial base, contributing to the EU Solar PV Industry Alliance and the solar energy joint research and innovation agenda. Activities are expected to reach TRL 6-7 by the end of the project.
