Quel est l’objet de cet appel ?
The topic funds research projects that use microbiome science to improve livestock health, cut antimicrobial use and reduce zoonotic risk under a One Health approach.
Que finance cet appel ?
Scope
Projects use microbiome research to improve the health and sustainability of terrestrial livestock within a One Health approach that links animal, human and environmental health, addressing issues such as antimicrobial resistance and zoonotic disease.
Activities
Proposals should address all of the following:
- Study the livestock microbiome, its influence on animal health and its interactions with soil, plants, water, air and human health.
- Develop integrated data monitoring systems for microbiome-related health indicators that support risk models for zoonoses or antimicrobial resistance.
- Assess how microbiome-based solutions affect and are affected by soil and plant health and the use of fertilisers and pesticides.
- Design holistic health models and microbiome-based interventions that prevent outbreaks and reduce antimicrobial use.
- Develop or contribute to platforms that assess and optimise microbiome-based tools, products and services.
- Strengthen collaboration among veterinarians, microbiologists, geneticists, biologists, epidemiologists and ecologists.
Cooperation
Projects should interact with each other and with related EU projects, including those on holistic microbiome research for food systems, and with the European partnerships on animal health and welfare, One Health AMR and pandemic preparedness.
Expected outcomes
Better understanding of the role of the microbiome in livestock health, shared tools for microbiome research, and guidelines that improve animal health while reducing antimicrobial use and environmental impact.
