Next generation scenarios for informing climate and sustainability transitions
Horizon Europe · Cluster 5 – Climate, Energy and Mobility · HORIZON-CL5-2027-01-D1-13

Cet appel est annoncé mais pas encore ouvert. Les dates et les conditions peuvent encore changer.
Quel est l’objet de cet appel ?
The call funds research and innovation actions that develop the next generation of climate scenarios and models to guide climate and sustainability policy at global, European and local level.
Que finance cet appel ?
Scope
Actions should improve Integrated Assessment Models or propose alternative approaches that close gaps in current climate scenario frameworks. Scenarios should extend beyond the 21st century, explore more diverse narratives and drivers (for example post-growth), and consider equity, justice, geopolitics and inclusivity more explicitly. Each proposal is expected to address only one area and should state it clearly:
- Area A: integrate physical climate impacts, adaptation, its costs and limits into mitigation pathways, and test how resilient low-emission pathways are to climate impacts
- Area B: update baseline scenarios and widen scenario narratives, including extensions of or alternatives to the SSP and RCP frameworks, for better regional and local use and relevance to biodiversity and the SDGs
- Area C: represent mitigation and adaptation policies in more detail and diversity, focusing on implementation and on effects on competitiveness, jobs, investment, energy security, supply chains and well-being
Expected outcomes
Better integration across research communities in support of IPCC and IPBES assessments, more robust and actionable scenarios for policymakers, planners, businesses and civil society, and more globally representative and better communicated scenarios.
Cooperation
Actions should co-design with stakeholders, include social sciences and humanities expertise, cluster with related projects, contribute to European Climate and Energy Modelling Platform conferences and support model intercomparison exercises.
