Que finance cet appel ?

Scope

The topic is a joint action of the New European Bauhaus Facility and the Mission A Soil Deal for Europe. It supports planning and spatial design solutions that prevent soil sealing or unseal sealed soils, improve soil health, support food systems transformation and strengthen climate resilience and biodiversity.

What proposals should do

  • Develop innovative, regenerative and place-based solutions combining nature-based and human-centred approaches, such as ecosystem restoration, permeable pavements, green roofs, community gardens or urban agriculture.
  • Demonstrate each solution in at least three neighbourhoods (urban, peri-urban and rural) in different Member States and/or Associated Countries, and plan for upscaling.
  • Run participatory and co-creation processes with artists, architects, start-ups, planners, local authorities, NGOs, researchers and citizens.
  • Monitor impacts with indicators on soil health, soil sealing and healthy cities, and use the data to inform policy.
  • Develop funding models that engage investors and businesses, and translate results into policy recommendations.

Cooperation

Projects are expected to collaborate with the Mission Soil Platform, are encouraged to connect with Soil Mission projects and living labs, and to share results with the New European Bauhaus hub for results and impact. An effective contribution from social sciences, humanities and arts is expected.

Expected outcomes

  • More planning and design solutions that reduce soil sealing and land take.
  • Wider adoption and market uptake of these solutions across territories.
  • Effective funding models and enabling policy frameworks.
  • Activities are expected to reach technology readiness level 6-8 by the end of the project.
