Cet appel est annoncé mais pas encore ouvert. Les dates et les conditions peuvent encore changer.
Quel est l’objet de cet appel ?
The topic seeks innovative measures that reduce the environmental, social and health effects of active railways and motorways on surrounding neighbourhoods. Measures are to be demonstrated in an urban, a peri-urban and a rural neighbourhood in different countries.
Que finance cet appel ?
Scope
Active railway lines and motorways can be perceived as sources of disturbance such as pollutants, noise, air pollution, invasive alien plant species and potential hazards, and may make surrounding neighbourhoods unsightly, neglected and harmful to biodiversity. Innovative solutions are sought to reduce these environmental, ecological, economic, social and health effects and to turn the places into more liveable, inclusive, safe, attractive and biodiverse ones, in line with the sustainability, inclusion and aesthetic values of the New European Bauhaus.
Expected outcomes
- Innovative solutions reduce the negative effects of existing, active railway lines and motorways on demonstrator sites, contributing to their revitalisation.
- Improved adoption of the solutions by stakeholders such as local authorities, inhabitants, architects, engineers, landscape architects and urban planners.
What proposals are expected to address
- Develop and demonstrate a package of measures that mitigates the negative effects on nearby neighbourhoods and revitalises them.
- Implement the package in three distinct neighbourhoods, one urban, one peri-urban and one rural, located in different Member States and/or Associated Countries.
- Measure and assess the resulting changes in environmental, ecological, economic, social and health impacts.
- Identify barriers, including regulatory aspects, and propose solutions to overcome them.
- Ensure scalability and replicability through guidance and documented best practices for municipalities and stakeholders.
Approach
Proposals are expected to follow a participatory and transdisciplinary approach and to co-create solutions with stakeholders. The topic requires the contribution of social sciences and humanities disciplines. Proposals are expected, to the extent possible, to contribute to the urban greening goal of the Nature Restoration Regulation. Proposals are expected to allocate at least 0.8% of their budget to engaging with the New European Bauhaus hub for results and impact.
