Que finance cet appel ?
Scope
Research projects examine how cultural heritage shapes civic engagement, social innovation, collective memory and the transmission of democratic values, and how it can help address challenges such as social inclusion, cohesion, well-being and equality. Each proposal works on one of three areas:
- A. Cultural participation and access to cultural heritage, with a focus on young people, disadvantaged groups and barriers such as rural isolation, under-representation of minorities and economic disparity.
- B. Gender roles and identities: how cultural productions and representations relate to attitudes towards sexes and gender identities, with recommendations for more inclusive representation developed with stakeholders.
- C. Cultural heritage, cohesion and security: shared heritage and responsibility, links between culture and security (including disinformation and foreign information manipulation), instrumentalisation of heritage and polarising narratives.
Expected outcomes
- Better understanding of the societal impact of cultural heritage.
- Documented good practices and case studies in the chosen research area.
- Capacity building and knowledge dissemination among practitioners and policymakers.
- Policy recommendations, guidance and toolkits for policymakers.
Approach
Projects are expected to be multidisciplinary (for example heritage and museum studies, anthropology, ethnology, media, theatre and literary studies, musicology), to prioritise empirical and participatory research, and to connect with formal and non-formal education, particularly arts education. They should build on existing EU-funded networks and platforms, such as the European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage and the Common European Data Space for Cultural Heritage.
