Quel est l’objet de cet appel ?

The call funds remembrance, education and research projects on the persecution of LGBTIQ+ people and other overlooked victims of 20th-century crimes in Europe. Applications come from consortia of at least two organisations led by a non-profit legal entity or international organisation from the EU or a CERV-associated country.

Que finance cet appel ?

Scope

This priority of the European Remembrance call supports projects on the non-Jewish victims of the Holocaust and on other genocides, war crimes and crimes against humanity in 20th-century Europe, with attention to LGBTIQ+ people and other groups whose persecution remains overlooked. Projects on the Holocaust against Jewish people and projects focusing on Roma victims belong to other topics of the same call.

Possible project focus

  • How genocides, war crimes and crimes against humanity were organised and committed, and the roles of collaborators, perpetrators and bystanders.
  • New, inclusive ways of remembering and teaching about these crimes, including artistic memory projects and memory activism.
  • Awareness raising, mutual learning and training on the persecution of LGBTIQ+ people and other minorities, including under the Nazi regime.
  • Countering historical falsification, denial, false comparisons and memory competition, and addressing divergent national narratives.
  • Digitising historical material and witness testimonies for education and training.

Activities that can be funded

  • Linking different types of organisations, such as non-profit and grassroots groups, public administrations, academia, museums, memorial sites and educational institutions.
  • Training, exhibitions, public debates, non-formal education, awareness raising, research, collection and digitisation of testimonies, publications and online tools.
  • Education activities for pupils, students, young people and teachers, and exchanges between witnesses and younger generations.
  • Projects should have a European dimension, preferably at transnational level, and integrate gender equality and non-discrimination.

Form of funding

The grant is a lump sum. Each lump sum corresponds to one work package, organised as an "event" (for example a conference, workshop, training, exhibition, campaign, survey or research activity) with direct and verifiable participation of the target groups. The amount is calculated from the number of direct participants and the number of eligible countries per event, and the call is subject to the final adoption of the 2027 EU budget.
