Que finance cet appel ?
Background
Europe has more than 12 million cancer survivors, including 500,000 childhood cancer survivors. Young survivors often face long-term effects of treatment, such as depression and anxiety, chronic pain, fatigue, cardiovascular problems and infertility.
Scope
- Registered cancer charities and funding agencies across EU Member States and Associated Countries organise, fund and implement at least two transnational calls, awarding grants to third parties with their own financial resources.
- Funded projects target quality of life of children (0 to 14), adolescents (15 to 19) and young adults (20 to 39) at first diagnosis; all three age groups should be covered.
- Regular networking with funded projects, patients, citizens and stakeholders, and outreach campaigns at local, regional and national level.
What the third-party projects should do
Develop, test and scale up in real-life settings holistic approaches and tools, including digital tools, that optimise treatment and follow-up to improve quality of life of young patients and survivors, following open science and making data available for the future UNCAN.eu platform.
Role of the EU contribution
The EU contribution facilitates coordination and networking between charities and funding agencies and with stakeholders. It does not co-fund the projects.
