Que finance cet appel ?

Scope

The topic funds projects that examine how co-governance, meaning public participation in governing change, can support a fair green transition of neighbourhoods and bring positive changes in society, culture, the arts and the natural environment. Cultural institutions and digital tools, such as AI-supported participatory platforms, open data and interactive modelling, are seen as key enablers.

Expected activities

  • Refine and demonstrate co-governance approaches in at least ten neighbourhoods across at least three Member States and/or Associated Countries, covering urban, peri-urban and rural areas and neighbourhoods with and without experience of participation.
  • Make sure the approaches give nature a voice through more-than-human approaches, balance interests, power and knowledge among actors such as residents, developers, cultural institutions and businesses, and empower vulnerable and marginalised residents.
  • Use digital tools such as civic tech and open data platforms, and engage cultural actors and local knowledge, including cultural heritage.
  • Evaluate and compare how well the approaches deliver on these aspects.
  • Produce guidance and recommendations on best practice, benefits for climate resilience and nature-positive change, and administrative, legislative and regulatory changes.

Financial support to third parties

Consortia may give financial support to public administrations, SMEs, education or research institutions and not-for-profit entities, up to €150,000 per third party, to demonstrate co-governance in neighbourhoods.

Expected outcomes

Evidence-based guidance for policymakers, local administrations and neighbourhood actors on public participation in the green transition, informing national and EU frameworks.
