The call supports European film sales agents through a fund generated by their market performance. The fund must be reinvested in minimum guarantees for international sales rights and in the promotion and marketing of recent non-national European films.
Kaj ta razpis financira?
Scope
The action, part of the MEDIA strand of the Creative Europe Programme, supports the wider transnational distribution of recent European films. It gives European sales agents funds based on their market performance, to be reinvested in the acquisition, promotion and distribution (including online) of recent non-national European films.
Phase 1: generation of a potential fund
- Step 1: a fund of €20,000 if, in 2026, the applicant acquired the theatrical rights for 2 films and 2 eligible European films from its catalogue were distributed in 1 non-national territory.
- Step 2: an additional amount based on eligible admissions achieved in 2026 in territories where the sales agent owns the theatrical rights, multiplied by a coefficient per admission and capped per film and country.
- Step 3: an additional amount based on theatrical distribution rights sold in eligible non-MEDIA countries (Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, India, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, United Kingdom, United States), not exceeding €20,000 per applicant.
- The potential fund may not exceed €800,000 per applicant.
Phase 2: reinvestment
- Minimum guarantees or advances paid for international sales rights (theatrical and/or online) on eligible non-national European films; this activity is limited to 75% of the total direct reinvestment budget.
- Promotion, marketing and advertising, for example trailers and posters, presence at film markets, screenings for buyers, press advertising, subtitling and dubbing.
- Reinvestment may cover at most 5 different eligible non-national films. Personnel work and travel arrangements are not covered.
Eligible films
Fiction (including animation) or documentary works of at least 60 minutes, with first copyright established in 2023 at the earliest, mainly produced by producers from countries participating in the MEDIA strand and with more than 50% of the production financing from those countries.
Expected impact
Better transnational distribution of recent non-national European films, more investment in their production, acquisition, promotion and distribution, and stronger links between the production and distribution sectors.

Kdo se lahko prijavi na ta razpis?
- Legal entities (public or private bodies) established in Creative Europe participating countries: EU Member States (including overseas countries and territories) and listed EEA countries and countries associated to the Creative Europe Programme.
- Applicants must be established in a country participating fully in the MEDIA strand and be owned, directly or indirectly, wholly or by majority, by nationals of such countries.
- Applicants must be European sales agents acting as intermediaries for producers, directly appointed by the producer of each film through a written international sales agreement covering at least 10 countries participating in the MEDIA strand.
- Only single applicants may apply; affiliated entities are allowed if needed. Each applicant may submit only one proposal.
- Natural persons are not eligible, except sole traders without separate legal personality.
- Entities subject to EU restrictive measures or EU conditionality measures are excluded.
