This annual prize rewards women from the EU and countries associated to Horizon Europe who have turned their ideas into disruptive innovations. It aims to create role models and inspire more women to innovate.

What the prize rewards

The European Prize for Women Innovators celebrates women entrepreneurs behind game-changing European innovations. It is awarded every year to women from across the EU and countries associated to Horizon Europe who have turned their ideas into disruptive innovations that benefit people and the planet and who are inspiring leaders.

Categories

The 2027 edition is organised jointly by the Agency and the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). It has three categories:

• Women Innovators (funded by the EIC);
• Rising Innovators (funded by the EIC);
• EIT Women Leadership (funded by the EIT).

The same Rules of Contest apply to all categories, and an independent expert jury chooses the winners.

Expected outcomes

The prize aims to raise public awareness of the contribution of women to the EU innovation ecosystem and to create strong role models that inspire more women to become innovators.
