Scope
The topic funds a Coordination and Support Action that builds an EU advisory network to help young farmers and new entrants set up and run farms. It supports the EU Vision for Agriculture and Food and the aim of making farming attractive to future generations.
Activities
- Foster in-depth exchange of knowledge and experience among advisors across the EU on the needs of young farmers and new entrants.
- Develop and share resources such as learning materials, courses, business strategies, cross-border visits and internships that help advisors support young or new farmers.
- Equip advisors to guide farmers through all stages of farm establishment, from securing land, financing and business planning to technology use, financial management, legal matters and sustainable practices, including climate change and biodiversity.
- Promote generational transfer by helping older farmers plan farm succession.
- Involve advisors in EU-wide communication and awareness campaigns that present farming as an attractive career.
- Work with national or regional authorities and AKIS ecosystems so that outputs are maintained after the project.

- Advisors better equipped to help young people enter and run farm businesses.
- Attractive, high-quality training and advice that draws young, talented entrepreneurs into farming and leads to innovative agricultural businesses.

- At least 50% of the people involved in the project should be impartial advisors who spend at least half of their time advising farmers.
