Scope

Fellowships support excellent researchers who undertake international mobility. Applications are made jointly by the researcher and a host organisation in the academic or non-academic sector.

Types of fellowship

  • European Postdoctoral Fellowships: open to researchers of any nationality who come to Europe or move within Europe; standard duration 12 to 24 months.
  • Global Postdoctoral Fellowships: open to European nationals or long-term residents; an outgoing phase of 12 to 24 months in a non-associated third country followed by a mandatory 12-month return phase in an EU Member State or Associated Country.

Secondments and non-academic placements

  • Optional secondments in any country; for European Fellowships up to half of the action duration, for Global Fellowships up to half of the outgoing phase, and never during the return phase.
  • An additional period of up to six months for a placement at the end of the project in a non-academic organisation established in an EU Member State or Associated Country; the request must be part of the proposal and is evaluated.
